Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced calligrapher looking to refine your skills, this course is designed to accommodate all levels – beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Students will receive guidance appropriate to their level, allowing each participant to develop and progress at their own pace.
Join Fouad Blili for a 16-week online journey into Andalusian Maghrebi Illumination, also known as the Zakhrafa, and discover the beauty and intricacy of the Marinid style of Islamic manuscript illumination.
Through this course, students will explore the history, characteristics, and applications of Andalusian Maghrebi ornament, while gaining an understanding of the key elements that define this rich artistic tradition. From elegant calligraphy and harmonious geometric patterns to delicate vegetal motifs, participants will learn to analyse and appreciate the structure and composition of Moroccan-Andalusian decorative panels.
